Instructions for Internal Apartment Transfer

If you wish to change apartments within the same landlord’s properties, follow the instructions below.

1. Submit a New Apartment Application

 

  • Submit a new application even if it’s an internal transfer.

  • Applications must be submitted electronically via the landlord’s website.

  • Attach all required documents, such as proof of income and other relevant materials.

2. No Termination Notice Required – No Double Rent

 

  • There is no notice period for internal moves, so you won’t be paying double rent.

  • The lease for the new apartment will begin the day after the old lease ends.

3. Key Management During Move

 

  • If needed, you may receive keys for both apartments for a couple of days to facilitate a smooth move.

  • Key pickup and return times are agreed separately with the landlord.

4. Important Notes During the Move

 

Final Cleaning of the Old Apartment

 

  • The apartment must be cleaned thoroughly and emptied (see detailed cleaning guide under “For Residents” on the website).

  • Remove all personal belongings and leave the apartment in a condition suitable for the next resident.

Inspections

 

  • The landlord will conduct an inspection to ensure the apartment is clean and undamaged.

  • If any issues arise, the tenant will be contacted to correct them.

  • If a new tenant moves in immediately, the old tenant will be charged for professional cleaning if the apartment isn’t left in proper condition.

Parking and Moving Support

 

  • Ensure your car is parked legally and safely during the move.

  • If your move may cause a temporary obstruction, inform customer service in advance.

Update Your Information

 

  • Update your home insurance with the new address.

  • Submit a change of address to both the Post Office and the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.

  • Make a new electricity contract with your preferred provider. The electricity distribution in the area is handled by Caruna.
